Chocolate Bran Flakes

Chocolate Bran Flakes

Breakfast never has to be boring. And bran flakes can become something of a snoozefest when it’s something you’re regularly eating in the week.

To be honest, I eat bran flakes almost every day during the week. I only make oats if I run longer than 5 kilometers. I also usually have it with fat-free milk (protein) and a fruit salad.

Recently I made this for my mum and she loved it. I couple my bran flakes with cranberries, chocolate chips, flaxseed, poppy seeds, almonds, and raisins. I also sometimes add 1/2 a banana in there for change on days when I don’t have a fruit salad nearby.

Did you know: A high fiber diet is good for weight loss. It’s also good for the gut if you don’t suffer from any autoimmune issues. 1/3 cup of All-Bran is 1 portion of carbohydrate for me when I’m on a calorie-restricted diet. I usually pair it with 1 protein and a fruit.

Ingredients

1/3 cup All-Bran.

1/2 cup fat-free milk/1/3 cup low-fat milk

1 tsp almond flakes

1/2 tbs sugar-free dark chocolate chips or two blocks of dark Lindt chocolate chopped up

Method

Mix it all together and enjoy.
