Vegan Chocolate Mousse
A while ago I wanted to buy chocolate mousse because I really wanted some. I could smell the chocolate on the drive home from work - it was THAT type of day.
I love me a good piece of chocolate. Anyone who knows me well is aware of my indulgent tendencies. When I’m stressed I can eat an entire slab. The whole BIG slab, not those little ones. This recipe hits all the right spots on days when I don’t burn enough calories to reward myself with a treat. The day I craved chocolate mousse happened during a detraining week and there was just no way I was going to break my diet. I made this mousse with an avocado and since it has more potassium than banana’s I ate one every day leading up to the 947 Cycle Challenge. I didn’t cramp once.
Did you know: Avocado’s is a healthy fat. It also helps lower bad cholesterol. The green super food also contains a good dose of fiber and has anti-inflammatory fats like oleic acid, which can help lower triglycerides. It also contains a wide array of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, E, K, potassium, B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6.
Ingredients
1 avocado
90 ml lactose free milk/oat milk
2 tbsp cocoa (I used Skinny Nomu’s Hot Chocolate)
Method
Blitz everything in a blender.
Scoop into a bowl and consume immediately.
