Flaxseed Mask

Flaxseed Mask

Since I’ve been single, I use whatever downtime I get to treat myself to long periods of nothingness. I chill with a book, oil my hair, take extended naps and almost every time plaster my face with a new homemade mask. It’s my latest obsession.

My beauty regime is very uncomplicated. I use Amla on my hair when I feel like it’s looking a bit dry, I make turmeric masks, and use a scrub once a week to keep my face nourished. I also only use Epimax as a moisturizer and body lotion. Years of experimenting with various facial products led me here, and these days I prefer knowing what’s in the products I use, especially if it’s for my face.

This mask surprised me. It made my skin glow like never before. I look like I have permanent bronzer on. The mask itself was very doughy and not easy to apply. But I promise you, after you’re done, you will love the end result.

Did you know: Flaxseed, also known as Linseed is native to Egypt. It’s high in dietary fiber and I also use the flour to make buns. Flaxseed is very beneficial for skin. The Lignans contained in their oil repairs skin, treats acne, can control rashes, and can heal chemical irritations. Flaxseed is also very high in antioxidants and can be used to protect your skin from the sun. If you’re sporting a rough tan, mix two drops of flax oil and one drop of almond oil and apply to your skin at night.

Ingredients

1 tbsp flaxseed powder

1 tbsp chickpea flour

1 tsp turmeric

2-3 tbsp rose water/water
