Chickpeas are not just a remarkable source of protein. It’s high in antioxidants and very beneficial for the skin and hair. For example: you can mix chickpea flour with water and apply it to your scalp for dandruff or dry scalp.

Chickpeas have a good dose of magnesium, which helps balance fatty acids in the body, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Zinc present in chickpeas is beneficial for acne prone skin. Combined, the zinc and magnesium can even skin tone, reduce dark spots, cleanse and will help balance the sebum production of your skin.

Chickpeas are also known by many different names around the world. These include, garbanzo beans, bengal grams, Egyptian peas and chana. They’re have a distinct nutty flavor and a buttery texture. It also originates from the Middle-East and is hugely popular in India, Pakistan, Turkey, Ethiopia and Mexico.

Cleansing Mask

  1. Mix 3 teaspoons of chickpea flour with 1 teaspoon of turmeric and 5 tsp of plain yogurt.

  2. Leave to set for 20 minutes

  3. Paste all over your face and wash off with warm water after 25 minutes

Reduces Facial Hair Mask

  1. Mix 3 teaspoons of chickpea flour with 1 teaspoon of turmeric and 1 tbsp of water. The paste must not be runny.

  2. Rub onto face in circular motions and leave on for 15 minutes.
