Green Smoothie
Smoothies are the most divine thing when you’re in a rush and have no time to cook.
I love my green smoothies and have been drinking a lot of it this week. For two reasons. I haven’t had much of an appetite because I’ve been fasting and secondly, my days have just been manic and so full.
This particular smoothie is a blend of choice vegetables, which is not only filling but sickly sweet. I add honey because it is a wonderful source of energy and carbs.
Sometimes, I add chia seeds because that too is a carb and I usually aim to eat well at lunchtime every day.
Did you know: Smoothies or green juices that are store bought have an insane amount of sugar in them. Always look at the ingredients and the nutritional list. Sugars convert to carbohydrates and are a good replenishment following a workout. If you’re using it as a meal replacement be aware of what you’re consuming.
Ingredients
1 bunch celery
1/2 cucumber
3 cups of Kale
a knob of ginger
2 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp chia seeds
Method
Blend all of the above in a Nutribullet.
Alternatively, juice the celery, cucumber and ginger and add the juice to the rest of the ingredients and blend all of that.
Enjoy cold.
